Feed Muslims in Bangladesh

We’re teaming up with LaunchGood and Shorobor to feed impoverished Muslims in remote Bangladesh during Ramadan. Distribution starts on Shaban 28 and finishes by Ramadan 1.

Scopes of our services

Unlike many of our peer foundations, we focus more on the the individuals and families who are in difficulties to fulfill their basic needs such as foods, clothing, primary education, job skills development, healthcare, essential housing, and social safety. Besides arranging short-term needs of distressed individuals and families, we also keenly focus on long-term sustainability by creating livelihood opportunities.

Food & Essentials

Essential foods, apparels, and other basic household needs are given the highest priority while allocating funds collected from our donors. Read More

Education & Skills

We pay fees, study materials, and resources for all level of education with the greatest focus on primary education and employment skills development.

Medical Supports

Under medical supports services we distribute funds for doctors' consultation fees, hospitalization, nursing, medicine, and essential surgeries.

Housing & Social Safety

We help those who are in difficulties to pay their house rents. We also arrange basic housing for vulnerable families and individuals.

Livelihoods

For those in need and capable of working or doing business, we arrange for them investments to procure tools, equipment, stocks, and finance other working capital needs.

Debt Payment

We also allocate our collected funds to the beneficiaries who are seriously indebted and unable to get rid of the debt cycle.

Our collection-to-service workflow is designed considering the beneficiaries – the people in need. Keeping the beneficiaries in the center, our service ecosystem is built by a powerful collaboration of global donors, local volunteers, and partner organizations.

Currently we are serving the beneficiaries located in Canada and Bangladesh. Anybody unable to fulfill the need for essential goods or services can seek support from our funds.

We accept donation from across the world from our donors who are willing to contribute from their sharia-compliant lawful income on any of our four funding categories (see categories).  

Our Volunteers

Our global and local independent volunteers are the most essential stakeholders in the service ecosystem. They are ones who connect the donors with the ultimate beneficiaries.

We also partner with institutions such as charities, non-profits or commercial organizations including schools, hospitals, essential commodity stores, or real estate service providers.

Ways to Give

Our services are mainly funded by our donors who contribute from their legitimate and halal income for the satisfaction of our Creator and Lord, the one and only Allah (SWT). Following are the main four categories of funds we collect from our donors:

General Donations

General donations are benevolent contributions that can be used in any good purpose such as mosque construction, staff salaries, volunteers' expenses or for regular charities, etc.

Voluntary Sadaqah

Voluntary Sadaqah are benevolent contributions that can only be used to fulfill needs of extremely poor, needy, and all other people who are eligible to receive sadaqah and obligatory Zakat.

Obligatory Zakat

Obligatory Zakat or Islamic taxes are mandatory annual payment at a stipulated rate on the accumulated wealth of of a Muslim person. The threshold Zakat base and rates follow Sharia' rules.

Other Contributions

Other contributions include crop taxes (Ushr), Zakat-al-Fitr, Fidya, Kaffara, Aqiqa, Qurbani, Waqf, Will, Sadqah Jariah, and unwanted interest received from Banks by a Muslim person.

Distribution Methods

We distribute the benefits either in cash, by paying on authorized bills, or through direct fulfillments. The distribution methods vary based on the geographic location of the beneficiaries, availability of the volunteers, and preference of donors.

Cash Transfer

After thorough investigation, beneficiaries are paid in local currency in cash, direct bank transfer, or through mobile banking by our central team or local volunteers.

Bills Payment

Direct payment to the service providers such as hospitals, schools, and vendors. Authorized volunteers verify invoices, and directly perform the transaction at the service counter.

Direct Fulfillments

Niamah team directly purchase the products such as daily food supplies, educational materials i.e., stationaries, computer, medicines, etc. and send them to the beneficiaries.

Assistance can be sought directly by the potential beneficiaries in case they are capable to access and operate our web or mobile system. For the beneficiaries who do not have access or capacity to operate the online system, applications can be made by related third parties or through our local volunteers.

“Hasanah” is a proposed Islamic social banking system that will connect the lenders and borrowers to engage in interest-free financing and trade-focused equity investment activities.

Shop FREE WITH zakat credit

“Baitulmal” is a planned ecommerce store offering essential commodities that can be accessed by Zakat beneficiaries who can make purchase through the funds credit provided by Niamah.

IQRAA

“IQRAA” is an education system that includes a curriculum system, delivery methodologies, and accessible technologies. The core system is operated online and also delivered through academic partners.
